Speaker 1: David Clarke, Founder of Webjet

David Clarke, is the founder and Managing Director of online travel agent Webjet. David knew the internet could cut away layers in the cumbersome travel distribution chain and offer savings and convenience to customers 24/7. He devised what at the time was a state-of-the-art distribution system to list up to the minute domestic airfares of different airlines on the one screen.

Webjet was floated on the ASX in 2000 and now has a turnover of $AUD 500 million and has grown Australia’s No. 1 online travel agency site offering international and domestic flights, hotels, car hire and continually offers ground breaking new products. In 2005 David was a finalist in Entrepreneur of the Year.
